I've put the emails from this course as VIP status on my phone. This pushes it up as a notification onto the screen saver. Note to self. Don't violate GA law and look at phone whilst negotiating traffic on a Thursday afternoon on Northside Drive. It's not a good look to see a Mini Cooper wrapped around a fire-hydrant on a Thursday!
I took this on for three reasons:
So like "The Little Train that Could" I know that I face the climb (resisting to break out into a Miley Cyrus song at this juncture) but know that with guidance along the way...I think I can do it...
I took this on for three reasons:
- Mid-Life Crisis - I'm 40 in the next 6 months. I know...only a number but one that has got me reassessing a few things...career being one of them.
- I think my brain is in danger of becoming stagnant. I could, at this juncture sit back and say "Hey...I know it all..." - but I don't and it's changing rapidly. Education is like the bullet train in Japan...you might be in Tokyo now but you can be in Hiroshima in 15 minutes...
- My students. My students are the reason I haul my little self down the I75 daily. A unique environment of students from over 96 countries; where it is normal to hear several different languages when merely walking down the hall! These guys constantly amaze me and had me come to understand that while I am an "adopter" they are the "birthers" and as such, this part of their educational lives needs to be a massive part of their day to day experience in this "process" of education.
