Introduction
Originally from Northern Ireland, I have resided in the United States for twelve years. I am currently the Director of Academic Technology at Saint Edward's School, Vero Beach, Florida. Previous to this, I held the positions of Instructional Technologist and Geography Teacher at Atlanta International School, specializing in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) Individuals and Societies and Diploma Programme (DP) Geography teacher. As part of my role as an IB teacher, I am also a Workshop Leader, Consultant, Examiner and Site Visitor for The International Baccalaureate Educator Network (IBEN) for both MYP Individuals and Societies and DP Geography.
Having taught in various contexts in Northern and The Republic of Ireland, I have also worked in the corporate sector as a Project Coordinator for ECO-UNESCO, The National University of Ireland at Maynooth (Dissolving Boundaries through Technology in Education) and Educational Consultant for Business in the Community, Ireland, where I was institutional in founding The Schools' Business Partnership.
I returned to the formal classroom in 2003 in the United States. I was recruited to The Visiting International Faculty Program (VIF) and assigned to Johnston County Schools in North Carolina where I wrote and taught the “Global Connections” elective curriculum.
Purpose of the e-Portfolio
This e-Portfolio is a strategic collection of documentation to highlight, affirm and validate the consistent learning and application of theory during two years of an M.Ed in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University (graduated May 2015 with full honors and as class outstanding postgraduate). An important part of this was the application of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC’s) aligned to the International Standards in Technology Education (ISTE) to the activities that were developed throughout the programme to evidence mastery of these standards.
